• Account information — your email address and password when you create an account, or your name and email if you sign in via Google.
• Project details — information you provide during the wizard assessment, including your project type, build type, location, family details, and priorities.
• Uploaded quotes — the builder's quote PDF you upload for analysis, including all text and data contained within it.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.
• Usage data — basic analytics about how you interact with the service, collected via server logs.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the BuildWhiz service, including generating your personalised checklist and AI analysis
• Process payments for premium analysis tiers
• Communicate with you about your account and analysis results
• Improve the accuracy and quality of our analysis service
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you have explicitly opted in.

3. AI data handling

BuildWhiz uses advanced AI to analyse your builder's quote. When you submit a quote for analysis:

• The text extracted from your quote PDF is sent to a third-party AI service for processing.
• Our AI provider does not use data submitted via their API to train their AI models. Your quote data is processed and not retained beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
• The AI-generated analysis is stored on our servers and associated with your account.

4. Builder and quote data

Builder's quotes uploaded to our service may contain information about the builder, including their business name, ABN, licence number, and contact details. We treat this information with care:

• Builder information is used solely to provide the analysis service to you.
• Any aggregated analytics we produce are fully anonymised — individual builders cannot be identified.
• We do not share builder information with other users or third parties.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Virus scanning of all uploaded files
• Secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure
• Regular security reviews

6. Data retention

We retain your uploaded documents and analysis results only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and support your account.

If you delete your account or request deletion, your data will be permanently removed within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days), except where we are required to retain it for legal or operational purposes.

7. Cookies

BuildWhiz uses only essential cookies required for the service to function:

• Session cookie — keeps you signed in during your visit. This cookie is deleted when you close your browser or sign out.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate BuildWhiz:

• Third-party AI services — for AI-powered quote analysis. Data processing is governed by our AI provider's privacy policy.
• Stripe — for payment processing. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for hosting and file storage, with servers in the Australia (Sydney) region.

9. Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or request correction or deletion of your data, by contacting us at support@buildwhiz.com.au.

We will respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the service. Your continued use of BuildWhiz after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
